Covergalls Workwear owner, Alicia Woods, was named a recipient of the 2016 Women of Distinction award presented by YWCA Sudbury in March 2016. Woods was one of seven women to receive the honour. The other recipients were Mel Dahl, Lynn Despatie, Julia Wabie, Patricia Hennessy, Lise Plante and the organizing committee for Sudbury Soup Sisters.
According to the YWCA Sudbury website the award celebrates exceptional women in our community. They are dedicated, talented and selfless leaders who shape our society.
Alicia wears many titles, not only is she the creator of Covergalls but she is the General Manager of Marcotte Mining and the first female board of director for SAMSAA (Sudbury Area Mining Supply and Service Association). She is also a wonderful wife and mother of two beautiful children.
“It’s truly an honour to receive such a prestigious award and to be included in a group of inspiring women,” said Woods, “The Sudbury community has so much to offer and it is being showcased by all the remarkable women being honoured.”
